Patient details
Above the reporting forms there is a shared Patient details panel. It is filled in only once: the data apply to whichever reporting form is used.
- The patient’s surname and first name.
- Tax code: once a valid code is entered, the application derives the patient’s date of birth and sex automatically.
- Examination date: today’s date is proposed and can be changed.
- Known risk factors (from the history): six quick check boxes (hypertension, smoking, diabetes, hypercholesterolaemia, cardiac disease, varicose disease), used in the Abdominal Arterial report within the overall atherosclerotic picture.
Choosing the reporting form
The tab bar at the top holds the six report types available:
| Scheda | Quando usarla |
|---|---|
| Lower Limb Venous | Studio venoso profondo e superficiale, classificazione CEAP, terapia flebotonica e calza elastica. |
| Lower Limb Arterial+Venous (summary) | Esame combinato rapido di entrambi i circoli degli arti inferiori. |
| Upper Limb Arterial+Venous | Esame combinato bilaterale degli arti superiori, con controllo rapido dell'eventuale FAV per dialisi. |
| Abdominal Arterial | Aorta addominale, assi iliaci, arterie renali e viscerali; quesito clinico dedicato. |
The other two tabs, Settings and Archive Search, do not produce reports: they are for customisation and for consulting the archive respectively.
Entering the findings
Each form is arranged by anatomical section (for example: right and left carotid axis, arterial segments by side, saphenous and deep veins). For each field the finding is chosen from a drop-down menu or by ticking the relevant boxes; numerical fields (peak systolic velocity, diameters, Qa flow) are entered only where relevant.
General rules
- Fields are preset to normal values: a normal examination requires very few changes.
- Clinical thresholds (degree of stenosis, aneurysmal dilatation) are calculated automatically from the values entered, according to the criteria listed at the foot of each form.
- Some sections can be included in or excluded from the report using the Include … in the report check boxes (for example the renal and visceral arteries in the Abdominal Arterial form).
- Where applicable, the recommended drugs (antiplatelet agent, statin) and phlebological treatment (venoactive drug, compression stocking) can be selected from the customisable lists.
Generating the report
Once the form is complete, press the green Generate report button at the foot of the form. The full text appears in the preview area: a header with the patient details, a narrative description of the findings, the conclusions and — where relevant — treatment suggestions and follow-up intervals.
The generated text can be edited directly in the preview area before issuing the report, should you wish to add particular observations.
Copying, printing and saving
Below the report preview there are three buttons, the same in every form:
- Copy text — copies the report to the clipboard, ready to paste into your record system or a document.
- Print — opens the report in a window laid out for printing and brings up the system print dialogue directly.
- Save report to file — downloads the report as a text file, named after the patient and date.
Report archive
Archiving
The Add to archive button stores the generated report in the session archive, together with the patient, examination type and date.
Searching and reopening
From the Archive Search tab you can filter reports by patient or date, read them again and — with Send to the form for editing — reopen them in their original form with every parameter restored, either to correct them or to produce a follow-up examination.
Saving the archive to a file
The archive is saved to a CSV file with Save archive and reloaded with Load CSV archive (Settings tab). On browsers that support it, subsequent saves update the same file automatically.
Customisation (Settings tab)
The Settings tab groups the options into sub-tabs:
- Phrases — editor for the standard report text (Carotid, Lower Limb Arterial, Abdominal Arterial and the combined forms): each phrase can be rewritten in your own style and is then used in all subsequent reports.
- Farmaci & Calze — elenchi personalizzabili di antiaggreganti, statine, flebotonici e calze elastiche che alimentano i menu di terapia consigliata.
- Header and signature — details of the reporting clinician, added at the foot of the report.
Moving on to the next patient
Once the report has been issued, press New patient in the Patient details panel: the demographics, risk factors and form parameters are cleared, and the examination date returns to today. You are ready for the next report.
